Eyes, Faces and Expressional Archetypes


Today´s western culture idealizes beauty and agelessness. Most advertisements on billboards, television, magazines, newspapers and inter net websites symbolize beauty and youth.

My collage amplify´s this mood by reflecting on fragmented faces, eyes and mouth expressions. I feel each day I rise I am bombarded with images and expressions all around and all of the time articulating different degrees of beauty and agelessness. More and more our culture and society glamorizes life in ads that act as symbols and motifs (or archetypes) to tranquilize us. Therefore, my creative mood and self (or unconsciousness) is combating this idea that all must look and be beautiful.
